Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter costume from Alice in Wonderland...

Johnny Depp certainly likes to play an eclectic range of characters in the movies he stars in and that's no less true for his role in his latest Disney blockbuster, Alice in Wonderland, where he once again teams up with frequent collaborator and director, Tim Burton, as 'The Mad Hatter'.

Here is just one of the many colourful costumes worn by Johnny Depp as the eccentric Mad Hatter in the family fantasy film based on Lewis Caroll's infamous tales.

Another repeat collaborator with Tim Burton is the costume designer responsible for this fabulous outfit, Colleen Atwood, who also worked with both men on Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Sleepy Hollow.

I make no apologies for the amount of photos of this costume as I know that a lot of amateur costume designers and Disney enthusiasts will want to see every detail, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are lots of Mad Hatter's running about this Halloween.

See more costumes worn by Johnny Depp in Public Enemies, also created by Colleen Atwood, and check out more of her costume designs for the musical movie Nine.

Toothless Night Fury dragon from How to train your Dragon...

In addition to featuring original film costumes and props from all genres on this blog, I also like to feature memorabilia and interesting promotional material for new movies.

Take for example this fun life-size replica of 'Toothless' the 'Night Fury Dragon' that inhabits the Viking based world of DreamWorks latest animated feature film 'How to train your Dragon'.

Toothless befriends the film's unlikely hero 'Hiccup' when he is shot out of the sky by him after attacking the Viking island village of 'Berk'. Hiccup secretly helps restore the Night Fury dragon's ability to fly (this replica has an uninjured tail) and together they help save both Viking and Dragonkind from a far worse terror.

Tonight Show Tribute at Universal Studios Hollywood...

This tribute to NBC's Tonight Show was on display at the NBC Universal Experience Museum attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood on February 11, 2010.

The exhibit featured outfits, props and memorabilia used by two of The Tonight Show legends, Johnny Carson and Jay Leno.

Johnny Carson hosted the late-night American talk show from 1962 to 1992. The first ten years of his show were based in New York City, but in May 1972 the show moved permanently to studios in Burbank, California.

Also featured in the tribute was the RCA Orthicon Tube from the camera used for Johnny's debut episode as host on October 2, 1962, the mark from his final show in May 22, 1992 and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of Burbank. The show's infamous rubber chicken prop was also included as part of the display.

With big shoes to fill, Jay Leno took up the reigns of The Tonight Show upon Johnny Carson's retirement and hosted the show from May 25, 1992 until May 29, 2009. Rather embarrassingly when he left the show to try another time slot and a series called The Jay Leno Show, it was a ratings disaster and ultimately he returned to The Tonight Show on March 1, 2010, ousting his replacement Conan O'Brien.

This tribute was actually on display during the show's host and scheduling fiasco, so it was strange to see actual props from the set of Jay Leno's original Tonight Show run including his desk, microphone and coffee mugs for host and guests, whilst all the problems were occurring at NBC.
