Gremlin animatronic puppet on display...

Who could have thought that a creature as cute as the fluffy Mogwai, 'Gizmo', could metamorphosize into the scary, reptilian monsters that terrorised the sleepy town of Kingston Falls in the first Gremlins movie.

Costumes and props on display at Planet Hollywood in Walt Disney World...

On my recent visit to Orlando, Florida, not only did I discover lots of classic movie villain costumes, props and outfits from The Chronicles of Narnia and special effects at Universal's Horror Make-Up Show, but I also wandered into the Planet Hollywood store at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park and found a veritable treasure trove of movie memorabilia on display.

Amongst all the merchandise and around every corner there seemed to be more and more original costumes, models and props lining the walls.

There was the actual costume worn by the giant baby in 1992's Honey I Blew Up The Kid and the original crowbar used in the now classic family comedy, Home Alone, from 1990.

I'm sure these movie items have been on display for some time now, but I still got a buzz seeing them up close in person, although these days I'm not sure they'd make a children's comedy where the hero smokes a pipe (the live-action version of Popeye was made in 1980).

Arnold Schwarzenegger was one of the original Hollywood stars to help found the Planet Hollywood theme restaurant in 1991, alongside Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, so it's no surprise that you'll find an original costume from one of his movies on display at the store.
