Concept art and storyboards from 1982's The Thing on display...

Even though 2011 saw another remake of The Thing, John Carpenter's version is far superior (and itself a remake of 1951's The Thing From Another World). Universal Studios Hollywood had this fantastic collection of concept artwork, set blueprints and storyboards from the 1982 film on display on November 30, 2011.

Mechanical and concept drawings for Jaws...

Steven Spielberg's now classic genre-defining 1975 monster-in-the-water movie, Jaws, starred Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss, but the most important star was the Great White Shark itself.

On display at the Universal Experience costume and prop museum on July 16, 2009 were these concept sketches and mechanical drawings of the Great White Shark prop used in the movie.

The mechanical menace is renowned for constantly breaking down, delaying filming and tripling production costs, nearly causing the end of Spielberg's career, rather than catapulting him to success and the world famous superstar Director he is today.
