In February 2010 the ArcLight cinema in Sherman Oaks is celebrating the History of Warner Bros. Studios with special screenings of some of their most famous movies, including Casablanca, The Jazz Singer, Cool Hand Luke and East of Eden.
To make these screenings even more special they have exclusive displays from the Warner Bros. Museum including these fantastic original costumes from director Michael Curtiz's 1942 classic, Casablanca.

Casablanca is set in unoccupied Africa during the early days of World War II and in 1944 the motion picture won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Writing/Screenplay (for Julius J. Epstein, Philip G. Epstein and Howard Koch).

Orry-Kelly won three Oscars for Best Costume Design in his career, for the 1951 film An American in Paris (shared with Walter Plunkett and Irene Sharaff), for the 1957 movie Les Girls and for 1959's Some Like It Hot.

He was also nominated for another Academy Award for Best Costume Design for 1962's Gypsy.
Even though I get to showcase a lot of interesting outfits and props from new movies here at Hollywood Movie Costumes and Props, it's always fascinating and a thrill to see such classic costumes from movies that have shaped cinematic history.
